KILONOVA

Three connected timepieces honouring the source of all gold in the universe

Kilonova: Collision is the second timepiece in a trilogy celebrating the cosmic events that forge all gold in the universe, capturing a moment of cosmic drama on your wrist.

Its design features an ultra-black dial which absorbs 99.4% of visible light to create a void-like darkness. Against this backdrop, two striking, overlapping shapes cross and re-cross, creating an ever-changing and explosive visual pattern that symbolizes the massive energy release of a Kilonova event.

Limited to just 50 numbered units, each watch is hand-built in Melbourne, Australia, and driven by your choice of Swiss mechanical movement visible through an exhibition case-back.

A Kilonova Event

Seen by astronomers as a bright blast of electromagnetic radiation - a Kilonova occurs when two super-dense objects collide, such as two neutron stars or a neutron star and a black hole.

The objects first begin orbiting each other, being pulled closer and closer together. They then collide in a huge explosion so violent that it forges the heaviest materials in the universe, including gold and platinum - radiating x-rays through the universe in what is referred to as the afterglow.
